When is GridCon?
GridCon 7 will take place from 9am Friday 20th November until 6pm Sunday 22nd November 2026, at the Holiday Inn, Taunton, Somerset.
GridCon is a board game event focused on open gaming, so bring along your favourite games to play with like-minded gamers. There will also be an opportunity to try out new games, test prototypes, and meet some game designers or other industry people.
GridCon 7 will be held at the Holiday Inn Taunton, a wonderful venue with a variety of gaming rooms and fantastic facilities.
Please note that tickets for GridCon 7 are not yet on sale.
IMPORTANT! GridCon is a ticketed event. You can only attend if you have booked a ticket in advance. Please be aware that we have seen posts on Facebook offering tickets for sale – these are scams! Only tickets purchased from this website are genuine and tickets are non transferable.
T-Shirts – we will have tickets available to order closer to the date, so watch this space!
Mugs – we will also have mugs for you to order for collection at the event.

What is happening at GridCon?
GridCon is all about boardgames, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to play some! Keep an eye on the GridCon facebook group for up to date news on the events taking place.
Library
Bring and Buy
There will be an extensive games library available at GridCon 7, with games available for you to borrow through the weekend. There will also be a special Hot Games Library, which includes some hot new games from Essen Spiel 2026! These games can be reserved at reception.
At GridCon 7, we will be providing a dedicated area for a Bring and Buy, to give you the opportunity to sell games you no longer want or purchase games being sold. Due to the size of the room, please limit yourself to 5 games each maximum in the room itself at any one time (you can switch them over during the weekend) and no games still in shrink wrap. All sales are arranged privately, and neither GridCon nor Gaming Rules! Ltd take part in, or any responsibility for the data shared or the sales arranged. If you want to advertise your games in advance, this will also be available closer to the event.
Games Organiser
For those people who prefer to plan some games in advance, there will be an online organiser to use to look at what games are planned, sign up to somebody else’s game, or create your own. Please note that this organiser is not a complete list of games being played at the event and it is not a requirement to organise games in advance, but we know that some people prefer to plan their games ahead of time.
After it’s success last year, we plan to use Aftergame, it’s free to use, and you can either install the app or access it via the website (aftergame.co). The GridCon 7 event will be go live closer to the event.
Charity Raffle
There will be a raffle run during GridCon 7 where you will have the chance to win some fantastic games. Tickets will be only available for purchase at the convention and they will be £5 each. Tickets will be cash only.
Official Demo Table
During GridCon 7, there will be a series of official sponsored demos for you to try. Watch this space to see what games will be on show this year!
The Venue
About the venue: GridCon 7 will be held at the Holiday Inn Taunton (Deane Gate Avenue, Taunton, Somerset, TA1 2UA).
Please note that the Holiday Inn Express which is nearby is a separate hotel and not part of the GridCon venue.
Accommodation: If staying at the venue please be aware that the rooms are subject to a two night minimum stay, for the Friday and Saturday nights. These prices include breakfast. You will also have access to the hotel’s swimming pool and fitness centre.
Note: You will be unable to book the hotel online through normal means. Once you have booked a GridCon 7 ticket, details on how to book the hotel will be sent out to you. These booking details will be sent out to attendees in the order the tickets were purchased. You will then need to contact the hotel and they will process the requests in the order they receive them. If we are aware that all hotel rooms are reserved before GridCon 7 tickets sell out, we will stop sending out hotel booking details, however please note that receiving details on how to book with the hotel is not a guarantee that rooms will be still be available when you contact them.
Arriving by car: The hotel is at Junction 25 of the M5, there is free parking available on site.
Arriving by train: The closest train station is Taunton train station. If taking a taxi from the train station to the hotel it is advisable to book this in advance.
Arriving by plane: The nearest airports are Exeter and Bristol, with Bristol being the larger. If arriving at Bristol by plane, then you can catch The Stagecoach Falcon coach from Bristol Airport, travelling along the M5, and it stops in Taunton just a short walk from the Holiday Inn. Tickets can be booked online in advance.
Covid / Other illness
Out of respect for your fellow attendees, please do not come to the event if you have Covid, or another transmittable illness.
